Nottingham Hospitals Charity.
At The Abbey Bulwell, we believe in looking after our community — and that means giving back where it really matters. That’s why we’re proud to support Nottingham Hospitals Charity through our parent company, GLOVER PUBS & BARS LTD.
By getting involved in our fundraising efforts, you're helping to improve local hospital care, support vital research, and make a real difference for patients and families right here in Nottingham.
Whether you pop some change in a collection tin, take part in one of our charity events, or help spread the word — it all counts. Together, we can do something amazing for our city.

The Abbey Bulwell's Toy Drive for NUH Children's Wards in December 2023.
December 2023 was a truly heartwarming month at The Abbey Bulwell. We launched a toy collection to support the children’s wards at NUH, and thanks to the kindness of our amazing customers and staff, it was a huge success!
From cuddly teddies to fun games, every single toy donated helped bring comfort and a smile to kids spending time in hospital over the festive season.
A massive thank you to everyone who got involved — your generosity made a real difference. Together, we helped brighten up the holidays for some very brave little ones.

Continuous Support for NUH Hayward House Appeal.
At The Abbey Bulwell, we’re proud to support the incredible work of the NUH Hayward House Appeal — a cause close to our hearts. Through ongoing fundraising, including our in-house lottery, we’re doing our bit to help this important service continue supporting patients and families in need.
We also sponsor the patient waiting room, keeping it stocked with hot drinks and refreshments all year round — a small comfort that we hope makes a big difference.
A big thank you to everyone who’s supported these efforts so far. Your kindness helps us keep making a real, lasting impact right here in our community.

Meaningful Support for Bestwood & Bulwell Tussle Trust Food Bank, December 2022.
In December 2022, we joined forces with our community for a one-off collection in support of the Bestwood & Bulwell Tussell Trust Food Bank — and the response was amazing.
Thanks to everyone who donated, we were able to make a real difference for local families during a tough time of year. We're so grateful for the kindness and generosity shown — it’s proof of what we can achieve when we come together.

The BIG QMC Abseil!
On 6th September 2025, a brave group from The Abbey Bulwell will be stepping off the edge – quite literally – as we take on the QMC Big Abseil to raise funds for Nottingham Hospitals Charity.
This isn’t just any challenge. It’s a 100ft+ descent down one of Nottingham’s most iconic hospital buildings – and it’s definitely not for the faint-hearted! But for such a worthwhile cause, we’re ready to conquer our fears and go all in.
Every penny we raise will help support vital projects across Nottingham’s hospitals, from improving patient care to funding essential medical equipment and research. It’s our way of giving something back to the amazing NHS staff and services that look after our community every day.
We’ll be sharing updates in the run-up to the big day — and if you’d like to sponsor us, get involved, or simply cheer us on, we’d love your support. You can donate directly to our fundraising page here:

Together, we can make a real difference — one step (and one rope!) at a time.

Lifesaving Defibrillator Fundraising.
In addition to our big challenge this September, we’re also focusing on something really important right here at The Abbey Bulwell. Throughout 2025, we’re working hard to raise funds for the installation of a community-access defibrillator on the outside of our building.
This defibrillator will be available for anyone in the area who may need it — a quick, accessible resource in a life-or-death situation. It’s the kind of thing we hope we’ll never have to use, but we know it could make all the difference in an emergency. Having this lifesaving piece of equipment on hand for the local community is something we’re passionate about, and it’s a project we’re committed to seeing through.
We’re organising a number of events throughout the year to raise the necessary funds, and every little bit helps. Whether you contribute by joining us at one of our fundraising events, making a donation, or spreading the word — your support can make this vital addition a reality.
If you’d like to get involved or learn more about how you can support this cause, just ask one of our team members, or keep an eye on our events for updates. Together, we can create a safer community and make sure we’re prepared for anything.
